(2) A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
(3) A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
(4) Ecclesiastes 3:4-8 (KJV Strong's) A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
(5) A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
(6) A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
(7) A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
(8) A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Looking at what you’ve gone through or what you are going through, where have you been or where are you right now in your relationship with God? Would you say that you are closer to Him, resentful, angry or bitter?
Many stay stagnant in their Spiritual life for many years. They haven’t accepted that what happened though ugly it might have been can usher them to God’s love. They are guarding this hurt under lock and key. And many times, no one around them even knows about it.
Passing through the “Seasons in life”, can also be a source of sharp pain hiding in the most hidden corner of the heart. Disappointments, and unfulfilled desires and plans fills that small hidden room.
Failures in every turn seems to accompany every twist and turn of the very essence of existence. You feel so alone every time you go to your secret room. No one knows your secret because you haven’t been close enough with anyone to even sense that something is off.
1. GO BACK TO GOD
Every time I get stuck in one of my daily misgivings and scruples, I always go back in my mind about the story of the Israelites and those long 40 years of wandering in the Wilderness. Such wasted years! That always brings me back to the only reality that I cannot do it on my own. I can fight all I want to but my stubbornness will get me nowhere. I don’t know the plan, I don’t know the way. I need to go back to God and ask his help before I spiral down too deep.
2. ACCEPT GOD’S WILL FOR YOU.
Recognizing that I have to let go is the hardest thing to do. Letting go means letting go Of everything I have my slimy fingers on. Letting go is trusting God. Trusting is faith in God even though you don’t know what God is going to do. I admit that that is very hard to do. I always go to my favorite verse: Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
“All things” means God got everything covered. “For good” means I might have messed up everything, but he’s going to work it out for my good. “To them that love God” means even in my weakness, God can see that spark of love that I have for Him. All I have to do is come to Him, run to Him so he can fan that amber with His love that will even overwhelm me. “Called according to His purpose.” Many people walk around in life not knowing where to go. They keep searching for answers in the wrong places and the emptiness is swallowing them bit by bit. But I know my purpose in God. His plans are for my good. Jeremiah 29:11
3. Receive the blessings, learn from the Past, but move on.
Philippians 3:13b (KJV) “forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,”
Proverbs 4:25-27 (KJV) (25) Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
(26) Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
(27) Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
Don’t get stuck in the past. Thank the Lord for the blessings, learn from it but don’t keep glorying with what you’ve done or beating yourself because of what you failed to do or accomplish. There is another valley to go through, and there’s another mountain to climb. And in every step, walk closer to God. Ask His guidance. Talk to him in prayer and allow Him to saturate and fill your heart with His Words. Give everything up even that little room that you have been guarding all these years. Know that He loves you and cares for you. He cannot give you what’s best until you give up all of your heart.
The first step to accepting your Seasons in life, is Go back to God. Talk to Him. The more you talk to Him, the more He will reveal His reasons and if He doesn’t, just trust Him because He knows what’s best for you. As you get closer to Him, it is easier to accept His will for you. And as you accept His Will, you will see the blessings that you thought were there to hurt you, but instead, it was there to protect you and direct you to the right path. Learn from your past, the seasons that you went through, keep moving, because your race is not done. Keep moving, follow God’s leading because He already claimed Victory for you. You are a part of His Wonderful and Marvelous Plan.
Accepting the Seasons of your life, all the valleys and mountains will lead you onto the new clearing in the forest to start a new day, and a new adventure. But this time, let God take the lead. He knows all the twists and turns, the bends, the break in the path and the detours to take. Trust Him, and as you prove Him day and every day, you will see how much He loves you and in turn, you will reciprocate that love and you can really say, that you really love your Savior Jesus Christ.
